If you don’t have a policy, Murphy suggests that you use a third-party carpet cleaning contractor.
If the carpet cleaning is in a covered building, you can use a contractor who has the right insurance to do that job.
If it’s not covered, you should always use an independent cleaning contractor to clean the carpet, Murphy says.
If there are any gaps in coverage, you might have to pay more than the contractor.
